Greetings and salutations! It is time for the third installment of POTBRR Devlogs! We’re happy to report that we’ve reached over 6,000 downloads of Act 1! Thank you for your continued support of our project, it is truly amazing! Now, without further ado, let the curtain rise!

Swapping the Stage!

For our Spooktober demo, Phantom of the Black Rose Revue Act 1 was programmed in Ren’Py. This remained true for our Japanese language version of the game, but during the localization process, our team was experimenting with using a different engine for the game: Godot!

Godot would allow for the game to include the various new additions we’ll be adding to the full game, which include a beginner-friendly rhythm game, an array of sidequests, and an item system. Sneak a peek of these new features in Devlog 2!

Krool! luzoko! SurpriseOrb!

Krool has been with us since we began our Japanese translation! They created the foundations of the demo in Godot, with luzoko and SurrpriseOrb working hard to build it even further! These three very talented programmers have been working on faithfully moving POTBRR onto Godot while also implementing our new, upcoming features!
